The name might sound unusual — and that’s because it carries a story.
Years ago in Mexico City, François crossed paths with a kind and unforgettable man named Johannason. He purchased a striking blue topaz from him— unlike any gem he’d seen before. Carefully wrapped and stored in a small pouch, the stone was tucked away inside a filing cabinet.
When the family later relocated from Melbourne to Margaret River, the cabinet made the journey too, eventually landing in a quiet shed. There it sat, untouched and forgotten, for over twenty years.
Recently, during a long-overdue shed clean-out, a stack of old papers was gathered and set alight. The next morning, something shimmering in the ashes caught François’s eye — the very same topaz from Johannason, miraculously untouched by the flames. Though other stones had cracked in the heat, this one endured — and it remains our absolute favourite.
We hope you love it too.
